Drunk Stunt Biking Can Land You in Jail on New Years Eve
Jammu, December 31: The Jammu and Kashmir Police has decided to take strict actions against the persons involved in drunk driving and youths performing motorcycle stunts on roads during New Year celebrations.
According to Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu zone Danesh Rana, free hands have been given to Station House Officers (SHOs) of various police stations and in charge of police posts to punish persons strictly who are found to be involved in such mischievous and accidental prone activities.
During a review meeting held at the District Police Lines in Jammu, the stressed upon taking preventive measures to be taken ahead of New Year celebrations in the winter capital keeping in view that many events will be organised in different hotels, malls and private places to welcome the New Year.
The review meeting was attended by Ashkoor Wani, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jammu-Samba-Kathua zone, Uttam Chand, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu, SPs, SDPOs, SHOs and in charge of all police posts of Jammu city.
He also directed officers to use breath analysers to check on the drunk drivers and take strict action against youths using motorcycles and doing stunts on city roads.
