DTM imposes fine of Rs 30k on without ticket passengers

Jammu, February 18: The Divisional Traffic Manager (DTM), Railways, Jammu division, Sudhir Kumar Singh and his team imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 on the passengers travelling without tickets on the Katra bound trains on Wednesday.’

The DTM carried a sudden inspection of the trains on Jammu-Katra section during which he detected 85 passengers travelling in trains without tickets. A fine of Rs 30,000 was imposed on all of these. He also cautioned that the if more passengers were found travelling in the trains without tickets, they will be fined with a bigger amount.

Sources said that his idea behind sudden checking of trains on different routes is to curb the menace of ticket free travel by some passengers.
