Durbar’ to close on April 24, reopen in Srinagar on May 5


Jammu: The Civil Secretariat and other offices of Jammu and Kashmir Government will close in the winter capital of Jammu on April 25 and re-open in Srinagar on May 5. However, the advance parties shall be moving to Srinagar on April 20.

According to the order, the offices, shall move to Srinagar, in full and in camp, respectively, for summer season, 2015. The offices observing five-day week shall close in Jammu on 24th April, 2015 (Friday), after office hours and the offices observing six-day week shall close on 25th April, 2015 (Saturday), after office hours. All the offices shall reopen in Srinagar on 5th May, 2015 (Tuesday, FN). All the Departments shall ensure that records are packed in boxes after working hours on the last working day.
The offices moving in camp shall carry only 33% of the staff strength in the particular Office or 10 Officials, whichever is minimum or otherwise, as specifically indicated.
All the departments have been asked to send their advance parties, consisting of one Gazetted Officer and four to five Non-Gazetted Employees, who will receive the records in Srinagar.
Arrangements have also been made for providing escort to the employees and convoy carrying the official record from Jammu to Srinagar, the government order issued today said.
