JAMMU, JUNE 12: In yet another significant step towards modernization of services, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh today launched the official Website of J&K Urban Local Bodies (ULB) that is now available athttp://www.ulbjammu.org
The ULB website has been developed to provide series of civic services to the people including online downloading of birth and death certificates of all municipal areas of the province, building permissions, development schemes. The website will also have a special page for filing public grievances and host of other services.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the purpose of launching the official website for Department of Urban Local Bodies is to reach out to the online audience effectively, providing benefit to the people to collect important information like contact details of various officers/offices including information on how to reach officials anytime and anywhere.
He said that web Portal will enhance transparency in the working of the department and also reduce the time taken for processing applications and seeking permissions.
Various developmental activities of the department are also being covered on the website; the Dy CM said adding that this is expected to have a great leveraging impact on the working and above all encouraging the effective participation from the cross section of people associated with the activities of Department of Urban Local Bodies.
On the occasion, Director ULB Jammu, Arun Kumar Jammu, Deputy Director, ULB Rakesh Kumar Gupta besides other senior officers of the department were present.
