Panic gripped people in the parts of Doda district including its adjoining areas Monday morning rushed out of their homes braving chilling cold, after an earthquake of moderate intensity shook Bhaderwah Valley.
The epicentre of the quake was 7 Km south east of Bhadarwah, reports said.
The tremor was also felt in the adjoining areas of Bhaderwah Valley including parts of Doda, Bhalessa and Matmat.
Meanwhile, reports quoting police sources said that they have been collecting information from all police posts since morning, but as of now, there is no immediate report of any casualty or damage to property.
People of Chenab valley are apprehensive of tremors after a study of the US scientists published last year, which predicted that there is a possibility of major earthquake in J&K.
This is for the second time in past 15 days that a minor jolt again shook the inhabitants of the picturesque valley.
A tremor measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale had hit the area earlier this month on December 3.
