Jammu : An Educational-cum-motivational tour comprising of 23 students and two teachers hailing from the remote areas of Akhnoor District to Dehradun and Mussoorie (Uttarakhand) was flagged in an elegant ceremony held at Akhnoor, today. The educational tour was to gave an exposure to young children about developments taking place in rest of the country and to introduce them to the diverse culture, people and avenues of opportunity open.

During the tour, they got an opportunity to visit Dehradun and surrounding areas of Mussorie and Haridwar. Prominent location that were visited are Raj Bhawan, Indian Military Academy (IMA), Forest Research Institute (FRI), RIMC Dehradun, Survey of India, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration Mussorie as also Assan Barrage, Malsi Deer Park, Gun Hills, Lachhiwala and Kampti Falls.

Among the class XII students, Master Deepak Kumar Sharma was amazed at the diversity, historical and cultural riches he saw. The advancement and development he saw helped him set a goal for himself and choice of career after 12th exams. He has decided to pursue higher studies and become and engineer. The parents were grateful for this once in a life time opportunity provided by the Army.
