ENCOUNTER WITH TERRORISTS IN POONCH
Rajouri, Sept11 : In order to boost the morale of the people living in the far off border areas of Rajouri, BJP senior leader and MLC Vibodh Gupta today conducted a extensive tour of various border villages. During this tour MLC was accompanied by former minister and senior BJP leader Choudhary Talib Hussain and other prominent leaders of the area. During this tour the MLC along with other leaders also addressed a public rally at Namblan village. In his address Vibodh appreciated the role of people living in the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch. He said that in the present scenario the people of these border villages are standing by their nation in the same way as they have been doing in the past. The people of these areas besides having various problem are patriotic Indians and after Indian Army these people have a very prominent role in safeguarding our borders from our enemy. Referring to the present turmoil in Pakistan, Vibodh said that it is the greatness of our great nation that it gives equal opportunities to its citizens irrespective of the cast, colour, creed or sex. This he said is the main reason that India’s daughters like Ms. Mehbooba Mufti can become chief minister and on the contrary the daughters across our borders are even forced to remain inside the four walls of theirs houses. They are even denied the basic rights like right to education. He appreciated the visionary leadership of Ms. Mehbooba Mufti and praised her for her various landmark initiatives in ensuring a bright future for our daughters. He further added that under the present circumstances every citizen of this state must understand the wrong motives of those who give stones to our children instead of Laptops and school bags. These people he said never do the same with their own kids and instead prefer to send them to top educational institutions in foreign countries.
In his address senior BJP leader and former MP Choudhary Talib Hussain also appreciated the people of Rajouri and Poonch for maintain peace and harmony and for ensuring that developmental works gain a further boost. He said that people living in the various remote areas of Rajouri and Poonch have always played a vital role in ensuring that our enemy never succeeds in his designs. While referring to the plight of people living across our borders, he said that we must feel proud of our great nation which gives all possible opportunities to its citizens for their growth and development. He said that people living in the borders of Rajouri and Poonch have stood by their nation in this time of crisis. The sacrifices made by these patriotic people should not go in vain and Government needs to ensure that the developmental works in these border belts are initiated on war footing. Giving details about the BADP (Border Area Developmental Programme), Choudhary Talib said that many works under this programme are already going and more funds should be provided to the border villages various welfare schemes in the border areas. He also called upon the state and central Governments to start a special recruitment drive in para military forces for the people living in the border areas. This he said will help in tackling the unemployment problem on one hand and on the other hand will be useful in maintaining peace in the region. Other prominent leaders present on the occasion included Advocate Asif, Bashir Bhat, Bodh Raj, Choudhary Ismaiel Anees, Moulvi Nazir, Fateh Mohd and Dr. Makhan.
