JAMMU: In a day long and extensive anti- encroachment drive to remove the encroachments from nallah from the backside of UEED Office Complex, Narwal, Jammu, the District Administration assisted by Jammu Municipal Corporation, Jammu Development Authority, UEED, Revenue Department and Forest Department undertook a joint drive to clear the nallah from encroachments which were a source of obstruction and cause floods during the rainy season endangering the life and property of the people particularly living in the low lying areas. During the drive the team cleared about 200 mts. Stretch of nallah and also demolished about 35 No’s of Jhuggies along with number of platforms raised in the nallah by pressing the men and machinery into service by the Jammu Municipal Corporation and Jammu Development Authority.
The demolition operation has been supervised personally by Additional District Development Commissioner Jammu and conducted with the cooperation and assistance of Police Force lead by Sub Divisional Police Officer East Jammu and Police force from District Police Line Jammu. Other Officers who assisted the District Administration during the drive include Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Director Land Management Jammu Development Authority Superintendenting Engineer UEED, Chief Khilafwarzi Officer Jammu Development Authority, Enforcement Officer Jammu Municipal Corporation, Assistant Executive Engineer UEED.
