Engineering is one of the most sought-after degrees in our country. No matter how brilliant of an actor or artist you are, you aren’t considered “qualified” unless you have an engineering or a medical degree. Same is the case with these actors who initially chose the conventional path but somewhere down the line found themselves being inclined towards acting. So, we have curated a list of Bollywood stars who are actually qualified engineers. Have a look!

The first actor on this list is Gwalior boy Kartik Aaryan who moved to Navi Mumbai in order to pursue an engineering degree in biotechnology. The actor used to give auditions while pursuing his degree and bagged the lead role in Pyaar Ka Punchnama while he was still in college.

Taapsee Pannu was a student of Computer Science Engineering in Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology, New Delhi. Before making her acting debut, the actress used to work as a software engineer.

R Madhavan who stole our hearts with his role of Maddy in romantic flick Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein is actually an engineer. He did his graduation in electronics before entering the showbiz. Apart from engineering, the actor has also been awarded as the Best NCC Cadet Maharashtra and has trained with the British Army, the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force.

Actress Kriti Sanon is armed with an Engineering degree from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology. The diva graduated in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

The national crush of the country Vicky Kaushal who is well-known for his stellar performances on-screen holds a degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from Rajiv Gandhi Institue of Technology, Mumbai.

Not many know that Sushant Singh Rajput scored the 7th position in the All India Engineering Entrance Exams (AIEEE) and studied Mechanical Engineering at the Delhi College of Engineering. Though the actor dropped out after 3 years and moved to Mumbai to follow his dreams. He went on to become a TV heartthrob with his show Pavitra Rishta and later made a swift transition to the big screen with films like Shuddh Desi Romance and M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story.
