Ensure all relief measures for public: Taj Mohi-ud-Din took comprehensive review of rescue and relief measures
BARAMULLA: Minister for Health & Medical Education Taj Mohi-ud-Din today visited District Baramulla to review the Flood situation. During a meeting held here with, DDC Baramulla, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, the Minister reviewed rescue and relief measures taken up by the District Administration. Besides DDC, officers from PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control and other Engineering Departments were also present in the meeting.
During the meeting, the Minister directed the administration to provide all essential items to the affected families and to ensure shifting of those families living on the banks of river Jehlum to safer areas to avoid any loss of life.
The DDC in another meeting directed the Health Officers to ensure availability of medicines, especially Chlorine and Fluorine in the District to prevent spread of diseases like Diarrhoea. He directed the PHE Department to start tanker services for provision of drinking water to the public. He also directed the Fire and Emergency Dept. and Municipal Committees to take necessary steps for dewatering purposes, he asked them to keep dewatering pumps ready in the District. The DDC instructed the officers to ensure the restoration of offices of essential services across the District.
The DDC asked all concerned Departments to be pro-active and ready in advance in view of the Post-flood situation.
