EO for strict observance of ECI guidelines
ANANTNAG : Election Observer (EO) for 03-Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency, Mr. Asangaba Chuba Ao today stressed for discharging election duties with utmost sincerity and in complete observance of Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines. “Nothing should be left to personal judgment”, he cautioned.
Chairing a meeting of Assistant Returning Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and Sector Magistrates of Kulgam district, the Election Observer called for avoiding whimsical approach in the discharge of election related duties, saying every issue has been dealt comprehensively by the Election Commission of India, which have to be implemented in letter and spirit.
“The election related assignments call for round the clock attention”, he said and impressed upon the officers to be available on cell phones and take all calls invariably for free flow of communication.
Earlier, District Election Officer Kulgam, Mr. Jahangir Mir gave a PowerPoint presentation, highlighting the arrangements put in place to ensure free, fair and transparent polls. He said that all the officers and officials have been imparted election training in different phases from April 09 to April 14, 2014. He said all Expenditure Related Teams have been sensitized and activated to account for expenses being incurred by the political parties and their contesting candidates on political events, rallies and meetings. Effective mechanism has been put in place to monitoring implementation of MCC in the district, he added.
