Srinagar: After days of acrimonious scenes on beef ban issue which saw an Independent MLA Engineer Rasheed was assaulted by BJP members. He said that attacks in which BJP MLAs tried to “kill him” has been done on the directions of the Education Minister Naeem Akhtar.
He claims that he was threatened by Naeem Akhtar on the floor of the House on Tuesday that they will sacrifice him which was later executed by nearly six to eight BJP MLAs by thrashing him inside the house.
He also said that the beef was banned under the state’s Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) and the high court had ordered its implementation, but a Supreme Court order suspended its enforcement for two months in the state.
It is relevant to mention here that the beef parties in state has been hosted previously also and the man behind this idea was not Engineer Rashid but Khursheed Ahmad Malik, a BJP leader who hosted a similar party in middle of September and there were both and Muslim people attended the party.
Upon asking the reason behind hosting such party was to spread the message of religious tolerance, brotherhood and secularism.”
Also when this leader was asked whether his “beef party” had the approval of the BJP, He simply replied “Do I have to ask my partymen whether I should go to a mosque or not? It has nothing to do with my party”.
