Ex-gratia relief for civilians killed in border firing enhanced: J&K DyCM

Jammu, Jan 20 : Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh on Saturday said that ex-gratia relief for civilians killed in cross border has been enhanced to Rs 5 lakh.

“The ex-gratia relief in case of death has been increased to Rs 5 lakh whereas Rs 75,000 would be provided in case of permanent disability and Rs 5000 for minor injury,” said Dr Singh here.

Thanking the Union Government for increasing the quantum of ex-gratia and other reliefs especially for the cross-border firing victims, Dr Singh said that similarly, in case of house damage, the limit has been fixed at Rs 1 lakh or 50 percent of assessment of actual damage.
