JAMMU, Oct 5: In a Joint Surprise Check (JSC) which was conducted by Vigilance Organization into the illegal construction on Plot No.100 A/D Gandhi Nagar, it came to the light that building permission granted by the JMC was in contradiction to the approved site plan.
The building permission order was issued as “Residential Building” instead of renovation / repairs order by the then Senior Town Planner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Farzana Naqashbandi.
Further, the present building is a framed structure which in no way appears old construction. “Senior Town Planner has issued the permission order quite contrary to the approval of competent authority and also changed the drawing in final permission order in connivance with the beneficiary Sanjeev Nagpal”, told a spokesman to the leading daily.
These acts of omissions/commission on the part of the then Senior Town Planner, Farzana Naqashbandi and beneficiary Sanjeev Nagpal and others, constitute offences punishable under Section 5 (1), (d) read with 5 (2) of J&K Prevention of Corruption Act, 2006 and Section 120-B RPC, the spokesman said.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 21/2016 has been registered at Police Station Vigilance Organization, Jammu and the investigation of the case has been entrusted to Inspector Rajnish Salathia.
