JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 07- The Excise Department, under the supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner, Executive, Jammu, conducted extensive raids in district Rajouri to check overcharging by wine shops besides violation of regulations and guidelines by Bar operators.
A team comprising Sub Inspector Manvinder Pal Singh, Sub Inspector Gulshan Kumar, Sub Inspector Udeyvir Singh, and others conducted the raids.
During the raids, two wine shops namely m/s. M. S. Fulail Singh Wine Shop, Bus Stand Rajouri and M/s. Joginder Nath Virender Kumar Wine Shop, Jawahar Nagar, Rajouri, who were found over charging the customers were booked for violation of J&K Excise Act, 1958.
Subsequently, all Bars in Rajouri town were also checked by the team. More than 204 Nips/Pints were recovered from these bars.
The Department has initiated multi-pronged strategy to check overcharging by wine shops and violation of guidelines by the Bars.
