One person arrested,300 Kgs Lahan, & 5 bottles of illicit liquor destroyed
Jammu, April 7, 2017: In order to curb the menace of illicit distillation of liquor, the Excise Department Jammu has tightened its noose on violators of the various provisions of the J&K Excise Act in entire Jammu division.
Under the active supervision of Excise Commissioner,Mohd. Javed Khan and Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Mr. Ghanshyam Singh, the Excise Team led by ETO Excise Range South, Mr Rohit Sharma, ETO Eradication Wing Jammu, Mr Suraj Chander Singh along with Inspector Ritesh Gupta, Sub Inspector Prashant Mathur,Manjeet Singh & Waseem Zargar raided Kotli Mian Fateh,Deoli, Makhanpur ,Salehar,Dablehar,Tarachak,
phinder, Khour, Kirpind, Devigarh, Sai Kalan and Nikowal villages of Tehsil R.S. Pura and Bishnah to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor. During course of raids,one person namely Bahadur Singh S/o Sain Dass Caste Jatt R/o Nikowal was arrested and booked under Sec 48 of J& K Excise Act.
Two bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from the possession of the accused.Besides this about 300 kilograms of Lahan and 5 bottles of illicit liquor which is highly hazardous and injurious for health were recovered by the raiding team from the stateland and later destroyed on spot.
