Fake caller collecting cash for flood victims using Omar Abdullah’s name

SRINAGAR, July 16: According to Omar Abdullah’s posts on Micro-blogging site Twitter, a person has been calling people randomly and requesting cash support from people as a representative of Omar Abdullah.
The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir however took to Twitter to clarify and denied having authorized any person to collect cash on his behalf. Mr Abdullah also went on to say that he will be filing a police complaint in this regard.
In his tweet Mr Abdullah said, “Beware of someone called Aamir calling from 9697217371,claiming to be collecting cash for flood victims of Kashmir on my behalf.”
He added, “I haven’t authorized anyone & nor am I collecting cash for flood victims. I’ll be filing a police case in Srinagar but please be careful.”
“If I ever launch any sort of appeal it will be here on Twitter so if you get a call on my behalf please contact the police,” he said in the tweet.
