I am all for India-pak talks, peace prime motto: Farooq Abdullah


Former chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and President of National conferences chaired an all part meeting at his residence in Srinagar over Kashmir issues. Leaders from all opposition parties took part in this meeting including Pradesh Congress President Ghulam Ahmad Mir, Secretary CPI (M) MY Tarigami, Peoples Democratic Front chairman Hakim Mohammad Yasin, Democratic Party Nationalist Ghulam Hassan Mir and Awami Itthhad Party Chief Er Rasheed.

We are concerned about peace, we don’t care about surgical strikes. Indian and Pakistan must sit down at a table to talks: Farooq Abdullah


In this meeting present situation of Kashmir was the main agenda as well as the escalating tension between India and Pakistan across Loc and other issues like decision of government to conduct examination were also discussed.

Mr. Abdullah quoted Mr. Vajpyee’ saying, “’we can’t choose our neigbours’,so we have to talk to Pakistan, there is no other option” and appealed to government to find soloution.

He maintained his silence over Uri attack and Surgical Strikes questions put across to him. “Peace is the only agenda for now as Kashmir has been reeling under distress for more than 3 months”, he added. He also didn’t hesitate to say that holding talks with Pak is the only way out of this catstrophe.
