Former J&K chief minister Farooq Abdullah on Monday called for an all party delegation from the state that can plead the case for an AIIMS in Jammu with the union government. Abdullah who came to the AIIMS Coordinaton Committee protest site said that the delegation could meet the Prime Minister Modi, and discuss the demand for setting up the hospital in this region. He is on a three day tour to Jammu region.
Farooq said that both divisions of the state need an AIIMS like hospital, and there should be no problem for the centre to announce one for Jammu. The former CM said that all party delegation was the need of the hour as the present government had failed to take this matter with union government in the proper perspective.
He also said that it was imperative to meet the PM, and put a strong case for the consideration of the government, and this should be done on priority. Abdullah also accused the Mufti government of ‘inept’ handling of the issue without taking into consideration the finer sensitivities involved.
National Conference, he said had a very clear stand on the issue and the party welcomed the hospital for Kashmir, it also will support a similar hospital in Jammu. Later the former CM interacted with NC workers, and asserted that NC would fight for every just cause of the people of Kashmir, Jammu, and Ladakh.
