As per reports in a local daily, Farooq Abdullah’s Bathindi mansion has been allegely built on State land. The illegal encroachmnet of land at Bathindi has been facilitated by tampering the land records, alleges Revenue department.
In a complaint filed by one Mohammad Sadiq, a letter has been sent to the Prime Minister’s Office alleging that the Revenue Department has shown the land to be a private land on which Abdullah’s mansion stands at Bathindi, Jammu, but that land actually belongs to the state.
Ministry of Home Affairs has asked Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir to take appropriate action. The complaint says that Farooq Abdullah had encroached state land of more than five canals under khasra no.6 in Bathindi , Jammu and constructed his mansion on it illegally.
In the 1998 assembly session , one member raised the issue in the House. Thereafter, Dr. Farooq Abdullah got the registry of khasra no.21 of Bathindi . Registry was manipulated and executed by an unknown person because owner of khasra no.21, Din Mohammad, has denied to have sold any land to Dr. Farooq Abdullah.
Sadiq has requested in the complaint to kindly take strict action against Dr. Abdullah and other persons including the revenue officials who helped Dr. Abdullah to encroach the state land and allowed construction on it.
Meanwhile, the PMO grievances cell has asked the Chief Secretary to take appropriate action in the matter.
