Filmy theft in GMC; 8 ACs stolen, hospital disallows police to check

Jammu, August 31: Jammu division’s only Primary Hospital, government medical college and hospital saw something of a filmy theft in its drugstore.

The store is locked but the contents inside the store are stolen. Since a complaint has been made with the police, the Hospital Administration has also come under the police scanner for not opening the store.

GMC Hospital administration itself lodged a complaint at the Bakhshi Nagar Police Station that on Monday midnight, unknown people stole eight airconditioners and wiring from the store. When the police reached the spot to take the finger prints and investigate into the matter, the store was locked from the outside.

When the police asked for the store to be opened, the hospital administration disallowed the team. The team had gone to the hospital to find evidence using FSL but the hospital’s administration did not allow that.

Bakhshi Nagar, SHO Ashwini Sharma told the media persons that the theft had happened on Monday night but the information regarding the same was given to police late on Tuesday evening. He also said that the hospital administration itself has destroyed all evidence and has locked the store deliberately to disrupt the investigation on purpose.
