Five civilians killed in border firing in Poonch, Mendhar

Teenager injured in Pakistan firing in JammuFive people have been killed in the exchange of fire on Line of Control in Poonch district with a youth who was airlifted from Poonch to Jammu succumbing to bullet injuries. Earlier three people were reported killed but the number of fatalities rose to five as 20-year old Mohd Amin breathed his last due to serious splinter injuries suffered during ceasefire.

Amin had suffered serious fractures and despite being airlifted to Jammu. Heavy firing has been witnessed since Friday night between India and Pakistan in Balakote, and Sabjian sector which falls near Mandi.

A 10 years old boy Kafeel Khan of Bassoni succumbed to his injuries. Three people were killed in the firing earlier while dozens have been stuck in the hamlets.
