Jammu: An National Integration Tour organised by a Rashtriya Rifle Battalion Romeo Force was flagged in at Mendhar, District Poonch. The tour of seven days which started on 28 October 2015 comprised of 24 girls and one lady teacher of Nari Niketan,Mendhar was organised by Romeo Force under the Sadbhavana initiative visited Jammu, Amritsar and Chandigarh, returned back to Mendhar today. The aim of the tour was to give girl students a wider exposure to other states of the country and educate them about the rich historical, religious, cultural and natural heritage that our country has to offer and also to expose them to its scientific and technological progress. In addition to sightseeing, the tour has motivated the children to excel in their studies and educated them about the avenues and opportunities available to them.
During the course of the Tour, the students visited Wagah Crossing, Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh, Pushpa Gujral Science City, in Amritsar , Rock garden, and Sukhna lake, in Chandigarh. They also got an opportunity to go to Alpha One Mall, Elante Mall and Fun City entertainment park at Chandigarh during the trip. The children were awestruck with the progress and development they got an opportunity to experience. They expressed a strong desire to work together towards the progress of their state and contribute towards the nation building process.
Miss Safeena Kouser, a student of 11th Class of Nari Niketan was very excited after the tour and said that the tour has given them an opportunity to have a glimpse of the rich cultural heritage in the country and also the development made alongside.
