Flowers from five Countries for Vaishno Devi Navratri festival
Jammu, Sept 28: For the occasion of Navratri festival, the Vaishno Devi Temple will be decorated with special flowers brought from London, Switzerland, South Africa, Dubai and Sri Lanka.
These imported flowers are not only beautiful, but also last longer compared to native flowers.
” We have ordered flowers from Mumbai as well besides these five countries. These stunning flowers will be used to beautify the main temple , some parts of the Bhawan and the original cave, ” said Ajit Sahu chief executive officer of Shrine Board.
Flowers such as Gladiolus, Carnations, Lilium, Anthurium and Orchids will be used to decorate the temple.
Thousands of devotees from across the country and abroad visit this world famous Vaishno Devi shrine during the nine-day Navratri festival. The special decoration with imported flowers have doubled up devotees joy and enthusiasm, as most of them find it a special visual delight after taking a arduous journey of 12 kilometres up the hills.
