Shopian: Security forces on Sunday cordoned off the Sariballa village in south Kashmir’s Shopian district. Official sources revealed that army’s 44 RR and SOG laid a cordon-and-search operation near forest area adjacent to Sariballa village in Zavoora area of Shopian following the specific inputs about the presence of militants. They said the forces sprinkled kerosene over bushes and put it on fire in order to push out militants who they believed were hiding inside.
When last reports came in, the search operation was going on.
Pertinently, there have been increased number of operations in forest areas ever since a group of militants uploaded there photographs on social media which later went viral on the web.
