JAMMU, Mar 27: The RS Pura police has prevented a murder by arresting four persons who were found to be carrying four pistols, live cartridges and sharp edged weapons. RC Kotwal, SP Headquarters Jammu, said this addressing the mediapersons at RS Pura police station today.
A police team from RS Pura laid a check post on Tanda road near Chohala after a reliable source informed the RS Pura police station about some criminals who had hatched conspiracy to murder their associate.
At the checkpost, the police team signaled five persons riding on two motorcycles to stop for checking. Out of the two vehicles one bore the registration number JK02AK 1451 and the second was without a registration number.
What alerted the cops was that these men accelerated the vehicles and escaped from the spot. The pillion riders even took out their pistols and aimed to fire at the police cops. The police team however did not stop, in the event endangering their lives chased and intercepted the vehicles.
The SP further informed that one of the five managed to escape while four were arrested.
The accused have been identified as
Bikramjeet Singh alias Vicky, son of Mohan Singh of Babliyana, Satwari,
Gagandeep Singh, son of Inderjeet Singh of Digiana Camp, Dashmesh Nagar,
Upon frisking the men were found to have 1 loaded pistol, one loaded country made pistol, 11 live cartridges of 8 MM and two sharp edged weapons (tokka and khokri) on them.
During the initial investigations it was found that that the quartet were on their way to eliminate someone who was their associate said the SP.
The police team deserves applause for swift and timely action because the preemptive measure averted a possible law and order situation.
Police team led by SHO RS Pura Dayama Harish Kumar and assisted by SI Ashwani Kumar, Subash Singh, Gangandeep Singh and Tarsem Lal, Constables, Driver Avtar Singh and SPO Bawa Singh foiled the murder plot under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Harjeet Singh and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
