Jammu and Kashmir
Srinagar, Mar 25: With PDP-BJP all set to take over the Government in Jammu and Kashmir, all eyes are on allocation of names in Mehbooba Mufti led Cabinet in the State.
Reshuffling of name is being done in the Cabinet as some legislators from both the parties are trying to get included in the Cabinet.
Most of the Ministers in Mufti Mohammad Sayeed-led-Cabinet were new to the legislature and it was a testing time for the new leaders to prove their mettle in governing the State.
However, many of them had not performed well in 10 month rule of the PDP-BJP Government. Now some names will be dropped out from the Cabinet or not be given ptime portfolios.
“Yes there are demands that new faces should be included in the next Cabinet but no decision has been taken over it so far,” a senior PDP leader said after attending the party legislative meeting at Fairview Residence of Mehbooba Mufti in Srinagar.
On Thursday, Mehbooba was nominated as legislative party leader thus paving way for Government formation in the State between the PDP and BJP.
“There will be some changes in allocation of portfolios once the Government is formed in the State,” a BJP insider said.
In the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Cabinet, except Abdul Rehman Veeri, Javid Mustafa Mir and Chowdhary Lal Singh, rest were new to the council of Ministers.
