MeT predicts widespread rain/snowfall from Nov 12 to 14
A MeT official said that there is every possibility of scattered to fairly widespread rain/snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir from 12th to 14th November.
Kashmir Valley will likely witness a widespread snowfall in coming week. Valley received unexpected snowfall few days back as a result there was a complete power breakdown across Kashmir.
He added that advisory fro 3 days from November 12 to 14 has already been sent to administration.
Sonum Lotus, who heads the meteorological department in Jammu and Kashmir, said hilly areas are likely to receive moderate snow while light rains and snow could lash plains from November 12-14.
“The inclement weather could continue till November 15,” he said, adding that it could affect traffic movement on Jammu-Srinagar highway.
Kashmir valley received heavy snowfall on November 3, disrupting air and surface transport besides damaging power transmission towers and causing heavy loss to orchards.
An official told that they are ready to meet any challenge this time.
