The Jammu and Kashmir state may brace with rains and snowfall as the Western Disturbance over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir region has given scattered rain and snowfall activity in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, Skymet Weather reported.
As predicted, Vaishno Devi failed to record any rainfall activity in the past day.
“It is expected that during the next 24 to 48 hours also, rain and snow will not occur over the region. The sky conditions will be cloudy. Meanwhile, bright sunshine will prevail during the daytime with comfortable weather conditions,” the weather report added.
In fact, the report said, the mid-reaches of the state also recorded isolated rain.
As per weathermen, the Western Disturbance is likely to move away, clearing the region after 24 hours. Thus, the system is expected to give rain and snowfall activity in the higher reaches until tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the mid and the lower reaches would only record light rain.
After 48 hours, the wind pattern will change once again, it said.
