Full tourism exploration of Sidhra Golf Course be done :Hotel Association

 

Jammu, Sept.20: During the interactive session held by  Secretary Tourism,J&K Govt. Farooq  Ahmed Shah in which Director Tourism ,Jammu R.K.Verma,Deputy Director Tourism Rakesh Atri besides other officials were also present,the Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra delegation led by its President Rakesh Wazir and accompanied by its Chairman Shyam Lal Kesar & Gen.Sec.Harish Kumar Dubey emphasised that beautifully made Sidhra Golf Course by the department of Tourism with crores of rupees be explored fully, which has remained confined to the leisure of 270 officials & 30 to 35 non officials only at the moment,with the help of Tourism related and other good people  by giving them subsidized memberships so that they manage to bring maximum pilgrims/tourists  overthere.

Mr. Wazir said that the SRO declaring Tourism as industry has been expired and be revived with providing of all benefits as are available to the manufacturing industry as well like subsidized   power etc.

Mr. Wazir  further said that  Katra be made as modernized model base camp  for the whole state  with all modern amenities like good roads, lighting  beautiful parks, light & sound  amusement parks etc. So that  1 crore  pilgrims / tourists  coming overhere could be channelized  to all over state, moreover the  places  of Tourist  interest around Katra be developed  for longer stay of tourists overhere.

Mr.Kesar while speaking on the occasion raised the issue of early starting of the projects already sanctioned by the then Secretary Tourism, Govt of India  Pervez Dewan including  renovation  and up gradation of Cheryai Kagga on the pattern of  Chashma Shahi, starting of work  of light & sound at Katra Shalimar garden , liberal funding to the Navratra Festival etc.

Mr. Shah listened the delegation patiently and assured sympathetic consideration of the demands raised during the meeting.
