Ganaie kicks up storm; may resign if Sharma is posted as Chief Sec

Jammu, September 1: In the aftermath of Iqbal Khanday stepping down as the Chief Secretary (CS), the seniormost IAS Officers in the state, including Khurshid Ahmed Ganaie have staked their claim for the coveted post.

It has been learnt from top sources that Ganaie has cleared his intentions of quitting if the government goes ahead with ‘favouritism’ and does not follow the set rules that favour seniority.

As per reports of a news agency, a senior official close to the Financial Commissioner Industries and Commerce, Khurshid Ganaie, has disclosed that Ganaie would resign in the event of the government overlooks the seniority norms and appoints BR Sharma as the new chief secretary of the state.

It is widely known that Ganaie is a senior to BR Sharma, who is fifth in line in the state after Ganaie.
