Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani has called for a complete shutdown on Wednesday against the killing of Mohammad Altaf Sheikh by the unidentified gunmen on Tuesday.
Sheikh was a member of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat led by octogenarian Syed Ali Geelani.
Hurriyat (G) spokesman, Ayaz Akbar said that Geelani is shocked over the cold blooded murder of Sheikh at the hands of “the Indian agencies”
“Geelani has called for a complete shutdown in Baramulla district on Wednesday against this barbaric act,” Ayaz said.
Earlier, Sheikh was shot at in New Colony Sopore, near his residence.
He was rushed to hospital however, doctors declared him brought dead.
Hurriyat (G) spokesman, Ayaz Akbar said that Sheikh was a Rukun (member) of Tehreek-e-Hurriayt.
Sources said that Sheikh’s father Mohammad Yousuf Sheikh is a well known face of Jama’at-e-Islami in Baramulla distrct.
