Srinagar, May18: Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Chairman of Hurriyat Conference who had released the third edition of his autobiography ‘Wular Kinaray’ admitted that he had political differences with Abdul Gani Lone, Hurriyat leader who was assassinated on May 21, 2002 but he never wanted him killed. This was disclosed by Geelani in his 661-page book which was released in a function at his residence and was released by Valley-based paediatrician Dr Altaf. During the function, the guests presented their reviews of the book.
In his autobiography, Geelani wrote has close friendship with Abdul Gani Lone and he was a wellwisher and a friend but had some political differences between them but he never wanted him killed. Geelani also wrote that during the function on May 21, 2002 to observe the death anniversary of Molvi Mohammad Farooq, who was also killed by unidentified gunmen on May 21, 1990 he was not invited at the function at Eidgah there.
