Ghulam Nabi holds meeting on Kashmir unrest in Valley


Srinagar, August 30: Following the death of Azad Kashmir-based Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani, the valley has been facing constant turbulence with over 50 days to curfew now. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh met Jammu & Kasmir’s CM Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday and discussed the situation. While PM Narendra Modi has also promised full support in bringing the situation back to normal soon, an all party delegation headed by the Home Minister will visit Kashmir on September 4, today Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad also held a meet with fellow Congress men.

Azad discussed the present mayhem in Jammu and Kashmir with other members of the party and gathered ideas on easing out the tension soon.Taking a jibe at the late reaction from BJP Government, he said, ‘Agar sarkar ne hamari baat pehle maan li hoti to aaj bahut saari jaane bach jaati’. Focusing on the need to find a solution, Ghulam Nabi Azad said that it is now Government of India’s duty to resolve the matter.

Further he added, that the Centre should reach out to all the stakeholders and students as well.
Kashmir has been observing strict curfew along with all telecom lines being shut down for over a month.

Earlier as well, the Congress leader had took pot-shots at PM Modi’s ‘Mann ki Baat’ session by saying that amidst the chaos in Kashmir, the PM is doing poetry.
