Body of a young girl, chopped into six pieces and thrown in a septic tank in Muthi area of the Jammu region has been recovered by the police.
The girl, identified as Shivani Jaral, was missing since March 12 and her mother, Vaishno Devi, wife of Sher Singh Jaral had lodged a missing complaint of her daughter. The murder accused have been identified as Sunil Kumar and his wide Rajni Devi, of Chinnore. The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Jammu told that an alert was sounded and investigation was initiated as soon as the mother of the missing girl lodged a complaint at the Gandhi Nagar police station on March 12. Later, a written complaint was moved by the mother on May 2 that stated the involvement of Sunil Kumar and his wife in the kidnapping of her daughter.

The SSP also said that a police team, headed by the SHO, Gandhi Nagar, Paramjit Singh raided the house and arrested the couple. After extensive in depth questioning of the accused persons, they disclosed that they killed her and chopped her body into pieces. The body was then dumped in a septic tank of their rental accommodation at Muthi, which they have hired despite having another rental accommodation at Chinore where they were residing presently.

However, the reason behind the killing of the young clear is yet to be known and further investigation would reveal the intention of the couple that committed a heinous crime. The police party, after being informed, rushed to the spot and the body of the deceased was recovered in presence of FSL team and Magistrate. It is to be noted, the accused couple was also involved in a case of immoral trafficking in 2010.

As per sources, the victim had left her residence at Sanjay Nagar on March 12 and the last location of her phone was found to be in the Chinore area. The couple, reportedly, was involved in immoral trafficking in the area. Meanwhile, the body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary of Government Medical College (GMCH), Jammu.
