Girls outshine boys in all five streams of three year degree courses

In the recently declared results of BA, BSc, BCom, BBA and BCA- Part III exams have once again proved the supremacy of girl students over boy students as they have clinched the top positions in all five faculties.

A total of 18360 candidates had passed in the annual examination of the University of Jammu, with pass percentage of 61. Sipaj Jain of Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar bagged the first position with 85.57 per cent marks, in the faculty of science. The second position was secured with 84.36 per cent marks, by Ria Gupta of GCW Parade. Out of the first ten positions, four were secured by the students of GCW, Gandhi Nagar, while two positions by GCW, Parade. The third position was secured by Priyanka Sharma of Government Degree College, Hiranagar, with 84.6 per cent marks.

In commerce faculty, Sonali Chib  of the SPMR College of Commerce clinched the top position by securing 74.5 percent marks, followed by Priya Devi of Government Degree College (GDC), Samba who secured 72.22 per cent marks. Out of the first ten positions, students of the SPMR College of Commerce and GCW Parade secured four positions each, while GDC Samba and GDC Udhampur secured one position each.

Thirteen students have shared the first 10 positions in the faculty of arts with Nalinie Sharma of GDC Kathua, bagging the top honours with 76.84 per cent marks. The second position was secured by Garima Jasrotia with 74.48 per cent marks. Vintee Kotwal of GDC, Bhaderwah secured the third position with 73.93 per cent marks. Two students jointly shared the fourth position, while three shared the seventh position.

GGM Science College student Parul Gupta secured the first position in BCA with 81.45 per cent marks. The first ten positions were shared by twelve students as the sixth and the tenth positions were secured by two students each. The second position was secured by Manisha Manhas of GCW Parade with 78.27 per cent marks, while the third position was secured by Arun Singh of GGM Science College with 76.72 per cent marks.

In BBA, Himankshi Gupta of the SPMR College of Commerce secured the first position with 74.47 per cent. The second position was bagged by Arun Hans of GDC, Kathua with 73.80 per cent marks. Manisha Jasrotia of GDC secured the third position with 73.9 per cent marks.
