Girls outshine boys in Class 12 results


Jammu, May 21: Girls outshined boys by securing 62 positions out of 86 positions in the results of Class 12th which was declared by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) yesterday.

In Arts Stream, the first three positions were secured by girls. Muskan Rajwal, daughter of Sanjeev Rajwal of S P Higher Secondary secured 486 marks. Ifra Anjum, daughter of Muneer Ahmed Wani of Tiny Tots Higher Secondary School got 481 marks and Sabba Choudhary, daughter of Mohd Aslam Shamim of S P Higher Secondary School obtained 475 marks.

In Science stream, the first position in Science was also secured by a girl albeit sharing the first position with a boy. Vidudhi Gupta, daughter of Surinder Gupta of DBN Vidya Mandir HSS Mubarak Mandi secured 488 marks.

The first two positions were secured by the girls where as the third position was shared by a girl with a boy in Commerce. Mimansa Bhardwaj, daughter of Prashant Bhardwaj of Govt Girls HSS Canal Road 480 marks, Diksha Rajput, daughter of Kusham Dev Singh of Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. School Mubarak Mandi obtained 479 marks and Kavleen Kour, daughter of Tarlochan Singh of Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. School Mubarak Mandi got 478 marks.


According to sources, about 40, 580 students were appeared in the Class XII examination including 21,745 boys and 18,835 girls. Out of 40,580 students only 19,775 students were declared passed which included 9,720 boys and 10,005 girls. The total pass percentage was 49.
