Gloom all over as IAF declares all missing personnel dead

Jammu: As search continues for the missing IAF AN-32 aircraft, the Indian Air Force has declared all the 29 personnel onboard ‘presumed-dead’.

Gurdayal Chowdhary

With this news, the residents of Banyari village in the Hiranagar sector lost all their hopes as they were praying for the safe return of local boy Airman Gurdayal Choudhary who was onboard the plane.

Gurdyal got married just 11months back and was presently posted at Coimbatore. On 21st July, he left for duty in AN-32 transport plane, but just few minutes after taking off ,the plane lost contact with the control centre.

Soon after passing his secondary school examination in 2007, he joined the IAF as an Airman.

Unfortunately, the martyrs family received the news from their own source.

“We did not get this news from Air Force. They even did not bother to inform us. We received this information from some third party, ” said Chuda Ram Choudhary father of Gurdyal.
