Government abreast of people’s problems: Mir
LALPORA, TANGMARG, JULY 21: In order to conquer the shortage of drinking water in Lalpora and its adjacent villages in Tangmarg a battery of tube wells are being excavated for which the digging work is being started soon.
This was announced by the Minister for Agriculture Mr. Ghulam Hassan Mir while addressing a public meeting here at Lalpora today.
Mr. Mir said that since lalpora area is situated on sloppy land as a result of which people were facing problems of adequate water supply adding that after digging a number of tube wells the shortage of drinking water will be reduced. He said by this way the long pending demand of a large number of population would be full-filled.
The Minister said that the government is abreast of the problems of people and the efforts are afoot to solve these problems in phased manner.
The Minister said that focussed attention is being paid towards inclusive development of the State with thrust on infrastructure and upgradation of various facilities to enhance the living standard of people especially for off and remote areas of the State.
Mir said that Tangmarg is developing very fast adding that land mark achievements have been registered in all sectors in Tangmarg, Gulmarg, Baba Reshi and Kunzar block during last five years which, he said, can be acknowledged on ground level. He said government has initiated numerous innovative measures for rejuvenating over all development of the State during past five years.
Mr. Mir asked the people to remain cautious of the nefarious designs of vested interests, who create division among the people on the name of catchy slogans and ideas. “Their aim is just to hoodwink the gullible and innocent people and not to make any positive contribution to people’s lives” Mir said.
Referring to the demands of people, the Minister said that to ensure un-interrupted electricity to the people of the area, the number of 4 transformers has been enhanced up to 27 transformers during last several years besides un-electrified hamlets have been provided the facility. He said the High School Lalpora have also been upgraded up to the Higher Secondary Standard besides some more school have been upgraded to the Secondary standard.
The Minister instructed the authorities of CA&PD to ensure the supply of ration to the people as per the list prepared in consultation with the Revenue Department as per the census of 2011 besides the ration tickets provided to the people.
