New Delhi: Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde Wednesday sought to introduce in the Rajya Sabha a bill to prevent communal violence but could not do so due to protests by BJP members, forcing a second adjournment of the house, this time till 2 p.m.
Shinde sought to introduce the bill soon after the house resumed at noon following an adjournment soon after it met on the opening day of the resumed winter session.
But Leader of Opposition Arun Jaitley (BJP) stood up to oppose the introduction of the bill.
Members from some other parties also sought to raise their issues, causing a din.
Deputy Chairman P.J. Kurien then adjourned the house till 2 p.m.
