Government rule: IAS-IPS couple not allowed to stay together

The Indian govt is not allowing a newly married IAS-IPS couple to stay together

A case was reported by a national daily in which both the people are civil servants and are trying hard to stay together as they are not posted in their home state.

The girl, Nisha is an IPS officer from Delhi who married her batchmate P Parthiban, an IAS officer from Tamil Nadu. Presently, Parthiban is allotted the AGMUT cadre in Puducherry whereas Nisha was allotted the Tamil Nadu cadre and is posted in Coimbatore.

According to the rules, the officers cannot be posted in their home states which means Parthiban cannot get a posting in Coimbatore and Nisha cannot be posted in AGMUT cadre.

The only way out in this situation was to send a proposal to the Appointments Committee of Cabinet headed by PM Modi and that they have done.

The Modi government is quite famous for doing the Inter-cadre changes on marital grounds. Let us just hope that their request will be considered and the couple will be allowed to live together.
