The General Administration Department (GAD) has issued an order where in the para medical staff workers who have been engaged by the previous NC-Congress coalition government as casual labourers, daily rated workers or on contractual basis will be shown the door very soon. The list involves the para medical staff working in Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu and super-speciality hospital as well.
Although the authorities running different medical institutions have advise government not to make such a decision because of the fact that it will affect functioning of their respective institutions but the government has decided to adhere to the decision and an order to terminate these employees is likely to be issued very soon.
Now since the decision has been made, these employees posted in various medical colleges on academic arrangement basis vide SRO 384 of 2009 have now nowhere to go but to court of law seeking relief. The termination will also increase number of unemployed people in the state. The employees have already submitted their case to Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed and to Advisor to CM Prof. Amitabh Mattoo.
