Government working hard for States all round prosperity and development: Lone
SAFAPORA (BANDIPORA) : Minister for Higher Education, Mr. Mohammad Akbar Lone today reiterated Government commitment towards States all round prosperity and development, adding that people are best judges to see the performance of the present dispensation in this regard.
The Minister said this during his tour of various areas of Sonawari Constituency including Safapora, Hajam Mohalla, Kolpora, Barkathi Mohalla and other adjoining areas.
The Minister was accompanied by Chief Executive Officer Manasbal Development Authority, Chief Education Officer, Ganderbal, officers of R&B, RDD, PDD, Irrigation, PHE and other concerned Departments besides large number of people and public representatives of the area.
Mr. Lone said number of welfare and developmental schemes have already been completed and various schemes and projects in this regard are being implemented to further improve the socio-economic profile of people of the area.
Mr. Lone enjoined upon the officers to render their duties with honesty, zeal and enthusiasm besides redress the genuine issues of the public on priority. He urged them to expedite all ongoing works within stipulated time so that people do not suffer for want of basic amenities and stressed for close coordination in this regard.
Meanwhile, The Minister also visited Govt Higher Secondary School Safapora and Girls High School Safapora and inspected the functioning of these schools. Mr. Lone visited various blocks of both the institutions and interacted with the staff and students and enquired about the facilities being provided. He directed the CEO, Ganderbal to submit a proposal for construction of additional accommodation in both the schools. He also directed MDA authorities to construct a lavatory block in the Girls High School Safapora. He also announced 15 ceiling fans for the class room and new furniture for the school. He also directed the concerned executing agency for speedy completion of science laboratory in the School
While inspecting irrigation canal at Kolpora, the Minister directed irrigation department to take up the necessary repair work of the canal for the benefit of local people.
Later, a Public Darbar was held at Barkathi Mohalla Safapora which was attended by a large number of people besides public representatives and officers of various departments.
On the occasion people put forth various demands of the area before the Minister.
Mr. Lone, while responding to these demands directed the officers of the concerned departments for their redressal on the spot and assured the people that their other issues will be looked into for consideration and addressed gradually.
