SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 19: Mr. Rajinder Singh and Mr. Surya Bhanu Partap Singh Chib, both of whom have won medals at international Wushu Championship; accompanied by Mr. Kuldeep Handoo, Chief Coach of India (Wushu), were received by Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Mr. Handoo briefed the Governor about the to-date status of Wushu in J&K, the standard of the existing training facilities and the high potential of making J&K a front runner in this sport if the Sportsmen and women were provided the required support.
The Governor congratulated Mr. Singh and Mr. Chib for the many medals won by them in different Wushu Championships and wished them high success at the upcoming Wushu World Cup which is being held in China in November 2016 and, later, at the 14th World Wushu Championship (2017) to be held in Russia and at the next the Asian Games (2018). He also congratulated Mr. Handoo for being honoured with the FICCI Coach of the Year Award this year.
