Jammu, February 01: With no signs of government formation in state, the Governor of the state N N Vohra will now appoint his Advisors for assisting him to run the administrative affairs.
According to this leading local daily, the governor has set the process in motion already to make the announcement of new Advisors to the Governor which are yet to be appointed. Moreover, the names of two former bureaucrats have been almost finalized for the highly significant position. The two names making rounds for their appointment as the Advisors comprises of a retired IAS officer from Kashmir Valley and a former Principal Secretary to the Governor. An ex- Army Commander is also under consideration for this assignment.
The sources said that the centre has signaled that the Government in Jammu and Kashmir is unlikely to be formed in the next two months and for that reason the exercise of looking for the Advisors has been initiated by the governor.
It is worthwhile to mention here that the Governor’s rule was imposed in the State last year also for more than a month till the PDP-BJP coalition, headed by Late Mufti Mohd Sayeed had taken over reins of Government on March 1 last year but no advisor had been appointed for that period. However, this time, the Governor’s rule is likely to last longer than before and hence, the appointment of Advisors is necessary for assisting the Governor N N Vohra in smooth functioning of the Government.
