Govt committed to provide improved facilities to people: Sakina
Says flagship programmes have been instrumental in changing the socio-economic profile of the people
ANANTNAG : Minister for Social Welfare and ARI Trainings, Ms. Sakina Itoo has reiterated the government’s commitment to provide improved facilities to the people living in far-flung, remote and hilly areas of the State. She said government believes in persistent developmental achievements than rhetoric slogans and during the past five years the Government has taken several vital steps in this direction and change can be well acknowledged at the ground level.
The Minister said this while addressing a gathering at Khanabal Anantnag here on Sunday.
Maintaining that the development has been registered in every domain, the Minister said that special thrust has been laid on the vital sectors of health, education besides providing effective road connectivity to the villages, augmentation of water supply schemes and power generation has also been done. She said that the Government has undertaken these initiatives without giving the preferential treatment to any area but on equitable basis by undertaking several flagship programmes which have been instrumental in changing the socio-economic profile of the people living in these areas.
Ms. Sakina said that the Government has ensured need based development of people living in backward and remote areas and in this regard several schemes have been launched which have been responsible in changing the socio-economic profile of the people living in these areas, besides providing a much needed employment opportunities to the people at their doorsteps.
Ms. Sakina said people should not get swayed by the hollow promises and lies of defeated political parties and should themselves differentiate between their real friends and foe. She said report card of developmental achievements made by the present coalition is before the people and the record development in all the sectors which has taken place, during last five years has unnerved the opposition parties so are they speaking lies to hoodwink the public opinion.
