Govt implementing ‘End-to-End computerisation of PDS operations’

Government is implementing ‘End-to-End Computerisation of PDS Operations’ scheme in association with states/UTs to improve the efficiency of public distribution system.

The scheme is being implemented to address various challenges, including leakages and diversion of foodgrains, elimination of fake and bogus ration cards.

It comprises activities including digitisation of ration cards/beneficiaries and other databases, computerisation of supply-chain management including online allocation of foodgrains, setting up or implemented in 29 States/UTs and supply chain has been computerized in 20 States/UTs. The validity of the scheme has been extended by one year i.e. upto 31.03.2018 without any escalation in the project cost to complete the project.
