Jammu: “The state government will welcome the Amarnath yatries coming from all the country for the historic Amarnath Yatra”, this was stated by Deputy Chief Minister, Dr.Nirmal Singh, while talking to the media persons along the sidelines of a function. The Deputy Chief Minister was present there for a meeting with the different organizations of POJK refugees.
He said that it is the duty of the government to provide security arrangements to the yatries coming from all over the country to perform darshan of holy Shiv lingam at Amarnath Shrine for the upcoming Shri Amarnath yatra scheduled to start from July 2. The Deputy CM also said that it is the government’s duty to decide the duration of the yatra.
It is pertinent to mention here that Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani yesterday made a statement to restrict the annual Amarnath yatra in south Kashmir Himalayas to 30 days while addressing a public rally in Tral.
