SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 14: Minister for Agriculture Mr. Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today said State Government is contemplating to set up modern agri malls at district level to make the business of JK State Agro Industries Development Corporation Limited (JKSAIDCL) more vibrant and commercial.
Chairing a meeting of officers of JKSAIDCL here, the Minister said that such agri malls in phase first would be set up in two districts and later established in other districts also.
In this regard, the Agriculture Minister instructed the concerned authorities to prepare a comprehensive plan well in time for early establishment of such malls.
The Minister appreciated the vision document prepared by the Corporation for business plan of next 5 years.
For the benefit of the farmers, the Minister asked the corporation to organize Agri mela and workshops besides host on the departmental website information on the various welfare schemes available for them.
The Minister received the appraisal of the functioning of the Corporation through power point presentation given by the officers of JK State Agro Industries Corporation Limited.
During the meeting threadbare discussion was held on issues pertaining to cold store plant, establishment testing labs, functioning of sales outlet at Airport and TRC, status of accounts of the corporation, short term and long term strategy and business plan for next 5 years besides modernization of Cattle Feed Plant, Bari Brahmna etc.
Commissioner Secretary Agriculture Production Department M. A. Bukhari, Special Secretary Agriculture, Director Agriculture Kashmir, Director Horticulture Kashmir, Director Planning Agriculture Department, Director Finance Agriculture Department and senior officers of JK State Agro Industries Corporation Limited were present in meeting.
