Govt to upgrade Healthcare Infra: Lal Singh
Rs. 254.63 cr released under Health Mission Assures sufficient docs, parameds in far-flung areas
The Government will ensure that infrastructure in all health care institution is upgraded so that quality health care is provided to the people of the State.
The Minister for Health and Medical Education, Ch. Lal Singh said this while replying to a question by Mr. Ali Mohammad Dar in the Legislative Council today.
The Minister said that Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has approved an amount of Rs. 447.09 crore under National Health Mission Project (NHMP) adding that an amount of Rs. 254.63 crore has been released under the scheme. Besides, an amount of Rs 19 crore has been provided under State Plan as State matching share.
The Minister said that during the current financial year an amount of Rs. 171.90 crore has been utilized under the scheme upto ending February 2015.
Replying to a supplementary raised by Dr. Shahnaz Ganie, the Minister said that the Government is working towards the up-gradation of Healthcare Institutions at different levels and assured that up-gradation of hospital at Mandi will also be taken up.
In reply to a question by Mr. Firdous Ahmed Tak, Ch. Lal Singh said that the Government is fully aware of the problem of shortage of doctors and other para-medical staff in various health institutions of the State. He said that measures will be taken to strengthen the system and assured that sufficient staff including doctors shall be deployed for duty especially in rural and far-flung areas of the State.
Replying to another question by Mr. Javid Ahmad, the Health Minister said that installation of advanced and hi-tech machinery like MRI, CT-Scan etc requires certain facilities that in the point of time cannot be made available at the level of Sub District Hospitals, however, provision of other facilities including digital X-ray will be provided to SDH Karnah during next financial year, While as heating at the SDH is being provided by way of gas heaters.
Mr. Singh said that the department is in the process of rationalization of staff and also identifying the doctors from the backward areas for their placement in areas like Karnah.
Govt to ensure posting of Staff in all health institutions: Lal Singh
The Minister for Health and Medical Education, Ch. Lal Singh informed the House that Government would ensure necessary medical staff in all health institutions of the State adding that recruitment of medicos and para medicos would be expedited for their posting especially in the health institutions of remote areas.
Replying to a question raised by Mr. Mohammad Khalil Bandh in Legislative Assembly here today, the Minister said that health centres are being opened as per set criteria and norms fixed by the Government.
The Health Minister informed that sub-centres Ratnipora, Koil and Puchal have been upgraded to the level of NTPHC recently and 3 posts of doctors and 3 posts of nursing orderlies have been created in these institutions. He said the posts of doctors and nursing orderlies will be filled up by recruitment agencies shortly adding that at present 2 para medics are providing health care facilities in these hospitals. He said the requisite equipments would be provided to these health centres during next financial year.
The Minister informed that primary Health Centre Rajpora has been upgraded to the level of Community Health Centre in the year 2014 adding that at present there is no proposal to upgrade PHCs Parigam, Gulzar Pora, Panjgam, Litter and Newah to the next level.
